In what city and state is your business located?: San Diego
What year was your business established?:
Tell me about your business. How would you describe your services and/or products? Please be thorough and assume I know nothing about your business or industry.: Lia Nicole Nutrition and Wellness is a nutrition counseling and health coaching platform that serves to educate and encourage individuals to choose nourishing foods and lifestyle practices so that they may experience the joy that total wellness brings.
What are your short term and long term business goals?: 1-2 Years:
My goal within the next 1-2 years is to have a personal office space where clients can come and feel comfortable, free of judgment, and inspired to make positive changes for themselves and their families. I also hope to have a strong online presence that would allow me to expand my services to clients nationwide. In addition, I want to have built a network of wellness professionals to whom I can refer clients for extra support on their journey, including: chiropractors, functional medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, personal trainers, yoga instructors and studios, acupuncturists, and massage therapists.
After 5 years in the business, I want to be able to expand my services to include aromatherapy, herbalism, and perhaps acupressure to support my clients’ wellness goals. I also love the idea of selling my own air-purifying beeswax candles and essential oils and incorporating these items into my clients’ care plans.
Long-Term (20 years):
When I am ready for a change, I envision opening a café as a space to nourish body, mind, and soul, where people come to rejuvenate with local, organic coffee, tea, and small bites; recharge and rebalance in a meditation and yoga sanctuary; and reconnect with friends in the café.
Do you currently have a logo? Why do you want a new logo? What do you want your new logo to accomplish?: My original logo was a starfish and my business name was "Free to Be." I want my new logo to send a message of encouragement, acceptance, renewal, and vitality, but make sense for my business as a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant.
Who are your main competitors? How are you different from them?: In San Diego, the nutrition and wellness field is quite saturated, but I am confident my personal and professional experiences combine to give me a competitive edge over other nutrition professionals. On a personal level, I have battled weight gain and emotional eating, so will be able to empathize with my clients and identify their potential struggles. Professionally, I have been in the wellness field for almost 10 years. I graduated with a degree in Health Sciences and a concentration in Health Assessment and Promotion. For my senior project, I worked with a client for a full year to improve his eating and exercise habits, lose weight, and lower his risk of lifestyle diseases. During my last year and for 4 years following college, I worked for Weight Watchers, helping members achieve and maintain a healthy weight through dietary and lifestyle modification. I also worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and then later became certified as a Health Coach and Yoga Instructor. I have worked as a Health Coach in both the corporate wellness setting and in a doctor’s office, working with employees and patients on all aspects of wellness, including weight loss; stress reduction; cholesterol and blood pressure control; implementation of an exercise program; and improved digestion and energy. My certification as a Nutrition Consultant will further enhance my competitive advantage and help me support my clients’ unique needs.
What’s the age range and demographic of your target customer base?: My target audience is adults age 25-65. I want to reach the people I connected with as a Weight Watchers Service Provider. As such, I imagine the majority of my clientele will be women, but I do not want my brand to necessarily portray a "women's only" vibe.
In 3 to 5 words, how do you wish to be perceived by your clients?: Encouraging/ Inspiring, Knowledgeable, Approachable
Do you have a tag line (or slogan)? If so, would you like it stated along side your logo? If so, please type it exactly as you’d like it to appear in your logo.: I don't have one yet, but I'd be happy to explore options to help my brand stand out! I was toying with "Holistic Nutrition and Wellness" or "Certified Nutrition Consultant and Wellness Coach" or something along those lines. I am also open to catchier phrases that portray my expertise and/ or services
Do you have any specific imagery in mind for your logo? The image part of a logo is typically referred to as an “icon”.: N/A
Do you have any color preferences, or existing brand colors?: N/A - I love your style and color choices for your previous clients. I don't particularly love super bold colors like red, lime green or bright orange, for instance.
Are there any colors that you do not wish to use?: See above :)
What feeling or message do you want your logo to convey to those who view it? What adjectives should best describe your logo?: I want my logo to invoke a feeling of renewed health and vitality. My hope is people will see my logo and know I am someone they can trust and who can encourage and lead them along their journey to wellness.
How would you like the typography to appear? Examples: script, bold, light, serif, sans-serif, handwritten, calligraphy, etc.: I am generally not a fan of serif fonts, but am open!
Do you have a preference of the capitalization in your logo?: Open to your ideas!
Where will your logo be used?: Website, business cards, client forms and handouts, email signatures, etc.
What other logos appeal to you and why?: I am drawn to simple logos with appealing color palettes. I like Nectar & Green, Nourished Balance, Loveleaf Co., and love the pineapple you're working on for La Gracia.

Step 6: logo Concepts
Here you will find all the rounds of logo concepts & revisions.
These look great! Would you mind putting together some with more circular elements to them for me to consider, too? Here are some examples:
Also, just out of curiosity - will you be designing a symbol to represent my logo/ brand or will my logo simply be my name/ business title? I like what you've created, but I'd be interested in seeing some sort of symbol/ design inserted into the logo, too :)
Thanks so much!
PS I think my favorites so far are #2, #3, and #5 :)
I just realized I sent you the wrong numbers for my favorite logos! I meant #6 instead of #5 and I think I have narrowed my favorites down to #3 and #6 :) Thank you!
Note: I hand drew these beet and citrus icons for you since you said you like the La Gracia pineapple. I love this direction!
